The services provided at MUST Library can be broadly categorized into the following areas:
- Borrowing/ Lending Books

Borrowing/ Lending Books
Primarily the right to borrow books and other materials from the library restricted to University members who have library borrowing cards. To borrow, a member presents the item he/she wants at the circulation desk together with his/her identity card. Renewal of materials and payment of fines are handled at the circulation desk.
For Reserve Collection
The maximum number of books allowed at a time is 1 copy. Books in this collection are borrowed on an hourly basis due to their shortage. Borrowers are not allowed to take books from this section outside the library.
For general collection
To borrow, a member presents the item he/she wants at the circulation desk together with his/her identity card. Every library member borrowing books from the circulation collection is required return them back to the library before or on the date shown on the date label. Failure to this, a penalty is charged for each incremental day.
However, the book holder may request for an extension if the book is not booked by another library member.
The library subscribes to a number of local newspapers including Daily news, the Guardian and several Swahili newspapers.
The MUST library provides photocopy services to users for a small fee. Access to this service requires a University ID for students and staff.
